    Description

Bring vibrant colour and structure to your garden with Grevillea 'Ned Kelly', a hardy Australian native shrub known for its orange-red flowers that bloom for most of the year. Its medium-sized, bushy habit and stiff, heavily divided fern-like foliage make it an excellent choice for creating privacy screens, security hedges, or as a striking feature plant.

Loved by nectar-feeding birds, Ned Kelly attracts honeyeaters, especially at dawn and dusk. It thrives in full sun to part shade, with more sunshine producing more flowers. Suitable for subtropical and temperate climates, it tolerates light frost and adapts well to free-draining soils.

    Key Features:

    • Showy orange-red flowers throughout most of the year
    • Dense, bushy habit with fern-like, slightly spiny foliage
    • Ideal for screening, security hedges, and feature planting
    • Attracts birds and beneficial pollinators

    Plant Details:

    • Height & Width: 1.5 - 2 m high x 2.5 - 3 m wide
    • Position: Full sun to part shade; more sun encourages heavier flowering
    • Growing Conditions: Thrives in temperate and subtropical climates; tolerates light frost
    • Uses: Screening, security hedges, feature shrubs, and wildlife gardens
    • Care: Water regularly for the first 8-12 weeks. Lightly prune after flowering to promote dense growth. Use a slow-release native fertiliser with a phosphorus (P) ratio under 3% when buds form.
