    How to Plant:

    • Location: Choose a site with full sun to partial shade.
    • Soil Preparation: Ensure the soil is light, fluffy, and well-draining to a depth of 20cm.
    • Planting Method:
      • Place bulbs with the 'fat' end and roots down, and the neck slightly above soil level.
      • Space bulbs 10cm apart for a full display or further apart for a less dense appearance.
      • If planting in pots, use high-quality, free-draining potting mix with gravel at the base.

    Care Instructions:

    • Watering: Water regularly during the growing period; reduce watering as dormancy approaches.
    • Fertilising: Annually apply pelletised chicken manure and a balanced bulb fertiliser.
    • Temperature: Protect from frost; ideal temperatures range from 15-25°C.
    • Naturalisation: Bulbs prefer to remain undisturbed in the ground for multiple years.
    • Additional Tips: Avoid overwatering, particularly in pots. Ensure good drainage.

    Additional Notes:

    • Our Hippeastrum bulbs are true to name and type, supplied as large, flowering-size bulbs with a viable root system intact. Bulb size varies depending on the cultivar.
    • Hippeastrum CHRISTMAS STAR does not require refrigeration and prefers to naturalize in the ground for many years. These long-lived bulbs thrive on an annual feeding.
